Some Skating Inspiration

Check that out. It is a 30 minute documentary on some pretty amazing grass roots skaters.

This is the kind of video that makes me itchy to skate. The people in this video find the most incredible spots.
Thats not the point though. This is a skate video from Mongolia. This video makes you appreciate what you have. I am going to keep it short and ask everyone to comment after watching this. Think of it as skate homework, except it doesn't suck.

Lets make it official!

I know that our team has more then ten Reps and you are thinking where is the scout? Well I can't pick a scout because we only have 6 reps that are official.

Fill out the app make it official! Foundry Skateborading needs to get its first Scout! Someone that we at Foundry Skateboarding show off! Any of our Reps could be that skater. Just do the app and submit and give us a link to some footy. Lets get ten official Reps and make it happen?

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Welcome to the team

Some of these guys need to get official, I need 10 official Reps to pick a Scout! Do the sponsorship app!

Also check out our facebook http://www.facebook.com/foundryskateboarding?ref=ts

Aerial Reeder. The first woman to join our team. She's new to skating but we are super excited to see how much better she can get in the next year or so.
She is a Michigan girl so nothing to be seen for the next few months. That goes for all our Michigan skaters.

Yeah... Gordy is a bit weird. Gordy has been tearing up some comps up north. He came in 3rd in the nothern styles heats this past summer.
This guy has been skating for awhile now and knows his way around some pretty crappy spots, (that is a good thing.) Like most Northern Michigan skaters do. Can't wait to get some creepy footy from him, I just know that it won't come out normal. Thats why Gordy is awesome.
This is Kody. He's is just awesome. He belongs to Matt Miller.

This is Brandon. He just jumped onto the Foundry Skateboarding team tonight! He's a great skater and we look forward to seeing that Foundry Skateboarding "F" under his feet.
Brandon has been a big part of the Foundry Skateboarding family for a long time... heck even before Foundry Skateboarding was thought of. We are proud to have him aboard.

This is Matt Miller (Right). If it weren't for Matt Foundry Skateboarding would still be stuck with its head in the sand. This is the guy that got the ball rolling. Matt also happens to have a pretty amazing mini ramp in his backyard which we like to chill out at.  This is it... very short clip

Also Matt does some Bass Ad stake video. Check out some of his stuff

This is Matt Salinas. Seriously an amazing skater. I feel like Matt and Foundry Skateboarding are going to have a long and happy future together. He was one of the guys helping Matt Miller build the Mini Ramp, And was and is the only person to nail a front side flip on it. This guy isn't afraid to get massive air, attempt narly gaps, or just get wicked technical. We are super excited to see him skating the red "F"
Here is some footy, Matt Miller put this together
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlKTtO2k2gY

This is Timothy pointer. A skater from up north. From Manistee Michigan, I know that this guy can make the most out of any spot. Michigan guys always can. Tim, we are super stoked to see what you and your boys from the north can do. Can't wait to see some footy from these guys.

This is Derrick Lewis (right), he is Matt Salinas's brother. I've heard he's good. Seriously excited to go down and meet him. I wanna get some pics of this guy myself.

This is a Mr. Tomas Sutton. Another Michigan skater. you can't see his face in his pic, my bad. The snow is keeping the Michigan skaters down but I am sure we will see great things from Tom, next spring. Nice ollie btw.

Nick Cox, this is (well on the far right) This guy has literally no still footy. He does on the other hand have some pretty clean stuff posted on youtube. Check it out here http://www.youtube.com/user/RocketCows?feature=mhum#p/u

I am looking forward to getting down to San Antonio to put together a proper film for this guy. Welcome to the team Nick.

This is Devin Smith, he does video. Doesn't skate but he can do some good stuff with your footy. San Antonio guys look him up if you need some work done.

This is Haider Ali. He skates  in Orlando Florida. From the looks of his footy he isn't afraid to try some stairs and most defiantly isn't afraid of some pretty wicked gaps. I look forward to seeing Foundry Skateboarding under his feet in Orlando Florida.

We are super ready for Foundry Skateboarders to blow the skating world up. Remember guys you were one of the first, thats a big deal. Send me all your footy guys, when we get 11 Reps I need to pick a Scout! That means free stuff for nothing! I can't pick you without Some video.

Thanks to everyone that has gotten Foundry Skateboarding Where it is now. Michigan guys.... seriously sorry about the snow. I love snowboarding footage though.

The new deck designs are out! Foundry Skateboarding finally has some merch ready to be sold! Seriously excited. These are what you will get if you order. so be sure to let us know which one you want.

All the local skaters love them. There only complaint is that my trucks are to tight, lol. We are really excited to see the Foundry Skateboarding F in some Footy. Please drop us a comment and tell me where and when and I will be ready with the camera!

Seriously Abilene lets keep Rose

This is a cow. Yes, a cow. Why have I posted a picture or a cow on Foundry Skateboardings blog?

Rose park was a field before it was a skate park, and the city has every right to make it a field again. Rose is great, it may not be as good as the parks in other cities but its what we have. If we keep treating Rose the way we are the city is going to see Rose as a burden, and take it away.

The fence is going to get fixed, Abilene skaters PLEASE make sure it stays up. That cost money to fix and the city doesn't want to spend money.

The spray paint is going to get cleaned up, PLEASE don't tag it up again. Again the city has to spend money on cleaning this up, and they don't want to.

It's a simple thing, no one wants to spend money. That includes the city. Now lets do some calculations together. YAY math.

Ok lets take a guess, the city cleans the park every night, lets say that costs $20 a night ($7280 a year). They clean the paint oooh 4 times a year thats about $500 a shot ($2000). They have to repair it about 2 times a year, lets guess thats $1000 a fix ($2000).

Ok guys that is about $11,000 a year. If we could get rid of the cost of repairs and the paint cleaning it would be only about $7000. A field doesn't cost anything to maintain.

That means that it would be cheaper for the city to fill Rose in then keep it. The math adds up and its not good. Please stop treating the park poorly. It is better then the field that the city wouldn't mind giving us.

Rose park is a great place for us to not only skate, but hang out. I am sure you all understand where Foundry Skateboarding is coming from.

Forrest

Forrest Wilson. Thats the guy in the picture (top) What does he mean to Foundry Skateboarding?  This is something I have noticed about skateboarders. They are not friends, but family. Forrest is part of the Foundry Skateboarding family and has been sense it first started. I have a feeling he will be with us for awhile.

Its people like Forrest that make skateboarding great. Even when your having an off day just chillin with your family makes it good. This is a tribute to just that. Your skating family. Link, or send us to some footy of your skating family and we just might throw some stuff your way.

Here is a link to the Foundry Skateboarding family, check us out

The 4 tiers of Foundry Skateboarding sponsorship and what it means to skaters around the world

Here are the four tiers of Foundry Skateboarding sponsorship.

1. Rep
This is the place that every one starts. A Foundry Skateboarding rep is someone who has access to cheap prices, and potential free decks. A rep can order our decks from us (directly) and sell them. Every tenth deck that a Foundry Skateboarding rep orders they get a free one. The only catch to being a rep is that a rep is required to sell/buy one deck a month. So in short if your a rep, sell 10 decks get one for yourself free and sell a deck a month. Simple. How do you become a rep? Well you have to be a good skater, and you have to prove it. Submit you application for sponsorship here

2. Scout
A scout simply gets free stuff. You send in a video. Foundry Skateboarding likes you style, you get free stuff. Try it out. upload your videos here. We use the videos from our reps to choose a scout.

3. Tourny
This means that Foundry Skateboarding gives you free decks, and pays for your tourny fees. If your a Tourny for Foundry Skateboarding we expect you not only to be an amazing skater but we also expect a higher level of professionalism then other brands may require. Submit your application for sponsorship here

4. Paid
This is it. You can't go any higher then this as a skater. At this level we basically pay you to skate. Of course you will be given free decks, shirts, stickers, and all that stuff but we will also be writing you a check to keep you ours. This is a big honor and we expect the best from you both as a skaters and as a Foundry Skateboarding Representative.  Submit your application for sponsorship here

Now, some quick notes on submitting your videos. When you submit one. You must contact me somehow and tell me who you are what part of the world your from (country and City) and most importantly what type of sponsorship you are after. Please feel free to post ANY video, even if you don't want to be sponsored, our social media sites are a place for skaters to express themselves and be at home. Foundry Skateboarding does have the right to delete your posts or videos if we deem them as offensive or inappropriate so please be chill about that.

One last thing. Here at Foundry Skateboarding our business policy is to be 100% honest with ALL people. So we want to let everyone know that we follow a rule of ten. That means for every ten Reps there will be one Scout. For every ten Scouts there is one Tourny, And so on. So please keep in mind it is a tuff world. We need more reps then Scouts and More Scouts then Tonry. Reps still get free things.

Also keep in mind that everyone has starts as a Rep. When we pick a Tourny skater we pick from our Reps. So make your Rep videos look as pro as you can.

Local Skaters Everywhere

I just want to say thank you.
To the guys and girls in the world who have been busting them selves to pieces trying to skate. Skaters are always falling down, always breaking boards, breaking bones, twisting ankles, but they always get back up and push on. To all the guys and girls out in the world who skate, Foundry Skateboarding is throwing out props to you. Your dedication, passion, determination, handwork, and down right stubbornness when it comes to not giving up is simply heroic.
Keep it up.
All that pain and frustration will make sense when you finally land that trick.

Matt's Mini Ramp Extravaganza!!!!

First off I would like the say thank you to Matt. He funded this thing from the ground up and spearheaded this whole thing. Without Matt the Abilene Skaters and Foundry Skateboarding wouldn't have a wicked mini ramp to mess with.
Also I need to send a thank you out to all the guys, a big thanks to Matt S., Tanner. Dillyn N., Cody, and I am sorry that I can't remember the rest of the helpers names. Seriously thanks for the help.

Like always the Pictures of everything Foundry Skateboarding can be seen at our facebook. Here is the link.

Also a short video of what the ramp looks like on our youtube

This whole mini ramp thing started with a text from Matt M. It read like this,
"Hey wanna get some footy tom?"
The next text was lets just build a half pipe instead. WOW i didn't think Matt really meant a full on mini ramp, but we did it. A full day of busting our butts to get it skateable. This thing is SICK. The best way to describe what Matt and Foundry Skateboarding built today is, a super mellow transition with a simple pvc coping and over just a fun easy ride.
What else can I say. WOW wicked long day. Worth every minute.

I just wanna say Foundry Skateboarding will be getting some decks in within a the next few weeks to test and sell. If you are interested get a hold of me, we have no problem letting you demo our decks.

It Happens

It's getting late in Abilene Texas. I went up to the park to get some night shots (taking someones advice). It turns out that around eleven at night Abilene skateboarders go from being amazing damn near professional. The only problem Foundry Skateboarding was having today was, when they are that good they could care less about a camera.

I guess the Ross Park Skaters didn't get the memo. That free decks are on the way and the skaters that I think deserve them, get them.

Oh well, I guess all good things come to those who talk to people. Check out the facebook like it we are getting closer to the twenty five that we need

Alright, good night Abilene.

And ps) I believe the skater in the pictures name is Chase. Not sure though because he didn't stop skating for a second.

Check out the new logo. It's still up for some constructive criticism. Short post just want to get the logo as much net space as possible. Please tell me what you think. Also see it on.
